Terry is a Training & Development Practice Manager at Strategic HR Business Advisors with over thirty years of experience in HR management and over five years of experience in HR consulting in industries such as manufacturing, transportation, and retail. For much of his career, Terry worked as an HR Director within companies with multiple, geographically dispersed locations, each with 15-300 employees. He is accustomed to working with business owners and managers on a broad range of challenges, including business planning facilitation, compliance investigations, employee engagement and communications, performance management, leadership development, and training, recruiting and selection, labor relations, and federal and state law compliance and reporting.
One of Terry’s many strengths includes customizing training programs to suit the clients’ needs. He has developed and conducted training on topics such as Basics for New Supervisors, Giving Positive and Constructive Feedback, Interviewing Skills for Individuals and Panels, Creative Problem Solving, Workplace Harassment/Discrimination/Bullying, How to Remain Union Free and How to Manage Employees in a Union Environment.
Terry has a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Psychology from Purdue University. He has held a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) accreditation for over twenty-five years and also holds a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) accreditation.
Terry and his wife, Jan, were born and raised in Anderson, Indiana and attended Madison Heights High School (go Pirates!). They have been married for over 40 years and have two children and two grandchildren.
