Colleen is an HR Business Advisor with Clark Schaefer Strategic HR. With a passion for problem-solving, she enjoys collaborating with clients to find win-win solutions to difficult HR situations. Colleen’s down-to-earth style enables her to easily adapt and build relationships with a wide variety of people across departments and industries.
Colleen has over 15 years of HR experience within organizations in advertising, healthcare, food/beverage, eCommerce, engineering, and pharmacy. In the course of her career, she has been responsible for the full spectrum of HR day-to-day responsibilities as well as establishing Strategic HR plans to achieve organizational goals. Colleen is well-versed in building HR departments that are designed to help small businesses stay competitive in the labor market, improve employee engagement, drive performance, maintain compliance, and manage legal risks.
Colleen’s areas of expertise include employee relations, FMLA, ADA, compensation and benefits, compliance, performance management, and workplace safety. She also enjoys keeping up to date on HR trends and best practices designed to foster engagement and create a culture of high performance.
Colleen has a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science from the Metropolitan University of Denver. She also attained her Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).
Colleen enjoys spending her free time outdoors with her family traveling, hiking, and exploring new places. At home, you’ll find her reading, cooking, listening to music, and enjoying game night with her family.
