MVHRA presents: Luncheon- Legal Update

Sinclair Protocol Update

Sinclair did announce that as of Wednesday, August 4, 2021, all persons, COVID-vaccinated and COVID-unvaccinated, while within Sinclair campus buildings should wear a mask/face covering and maintain six foot distance from others, with exceptions granted in accordance with the Ohio Department of Health and other official health organization guidelines.

When registering for future events, you may select the virtual/Zoom attendance option during the registration process. We are happy to be able to continue to offer this alternative option, even as we attempt our return to the type of in-person events that so many enjoyed pre-COVID.

Session handouts will be distributed to the email address used when registering within 24-48 hours after the sessio.

  • Reservations must be received by 12:00 noon on the Friday before the event and if not, you will be charged an additional $5.00 for your luncheon ticket.
  • Cancellations must be received by 12:00 noon on the Friday before the event in order not to be billed.

About the Speakers: Matthew Bakota, Dinsmore & Shohl LLP

Matthew focuses his practice on labor and employment matters and business and commercial litigation. He is certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a specialist in labor and employment law, is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through HRCI, and has received training as a “Civil Rights Investigator” through ATIXA. He counsels employers on day-to-day employment decisions that implicate a variety of state and federal employment laws. He also works with employers on drafting, implementing, and applying their workplace policies, including updating employee handbooks. Matthew is also experienced defending employers against discrimination, retaliation, and harassment allegations in matters before state and federal government agencies and in litigated claims.

He has successfully represented many employers in disputes with employees suspected of violating non-competition, non-solicitation, confidentiality, and other restrictive covenants. His quick action, creative solutions, and experience in pursuing injunctive relief on behalf of employers helps them obtain relief against unfair competition and threatened theft/misuse of their most valuable trade secrets and proprietary business information.
