The Human Resource Certification is the symbol of professional achievement. Beyond experience and education, the PHR or SPHR designation signifies that you have mastered the HR body of knowledge. The Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI®) maintains the nationally recognized standards set by individuals working in the profession. Currently, there are over 40,000 certified individuals.

The Human Resource Certification Institute exam is typically offered the first Saturday in May and December depending on your city. In addition, the exam is also offered at the National SHRM Conference each year in June.

As facilitators for the University of Cincinnati’s HRCI exam review, we are frequently asked for information and tips on taking the PHR and SPHR examinations. To help you prepare, here are details about available resources.

To obtain an application on line, go to http://www.hrci.org/apply/ . For more information on the exam visit http://www.hrci.org.

Practice Questions

Once you are comfortable with the content of the HRCI exam, one of the best ways to continue preparing is through practice questions. Thanks to students in the Master of Arts in Labor and Employment Relations at the University of Cincinnati, we have developed a databank of potential questions broken down into the various categories of the HRCI exam. There is no guarantee that these questions will be on the exam; however, the review will help you prepare.

To access the questions, simply click on the respective category and begin your review. As time permits, we plan to enhance the technical functionality of this resource. Good luck!
